Easter Egg Bird's Nests

By

In the Norther Hemisphere, Easter occurs in the springtime, so we have Easter bunnies, eggs and spring flowers, such as daffodils. These treats are fun to make and grandparents will enjoy making them with their grandchildren. The chocolate nests are made from breakfast cereal and melted chocolate. The tiny eggs are chocolate eggs, chocolate covered raisins or jelly beans if you like.

Preparation

Step 1

Crumble the cereal by hand into a bowl. Check that there are no large chunks.

Melt the chocolate wafers in a double boiler, microwave or crock pot. I used my crock pot because it is easier to control the heat. Remember, chocolate melts in your mouth, so keep the heat low or the chocolate will burn.

Carefully add the melted chocolate to the bowl of crumbled cereal and using the spoon, mix well together.

Line a muffin with foil and place a spoonful of the mixture into each space. Use the back of spoon to press it down into a nest shape. Leave the shapes to harden in a cool place like the fridge.

When the nests are hard, put them on a plate and add three chocolate eggs to each one. Serve up as a treat on Easter Sunday.
