Ingredients

    cups oil for frying

    cups sifted all-purpose flour

    tsp baking powder

  • 1

    tsp salt

  • 1/2

    tsp white sugar

    egg lightly beaten

  • 1

    cup milk

  • 2

    tbsp shortening, melted

  • 2

    cans whole kernel corn, drained

Directions

1. Heat oil to 365 Degrees F 2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. 3. Beat together egg, milk and melted shortening;stir into flour mixture. 4. Mix with corn kernels. 5. Drop fritters by spoonfuls into the hot oil, and fry until golden. Drain on paper towels.
