Five Spice Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry

Ingredients
- 1 bunch broccoli
- 1 red pepper
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut in strips
- 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 - 1 1/2 tsp five spice powder
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 250 g sliced mushrooms

Step 1
Cut stems from broccoli. Peel, then slice into thin rounds. Slice florets into small pieces. Slice pepper into strips. If using steak, cut off excess fat. Then slice meat into thin strips. In a small bowl, stir hoisin with soy, five-spice powder and cornstarch.
Heat oil in a wok or large, wide saucepan set over medium-high. Add beef and stir-fry just until it changes color, 2 to 3 minutes. Add mushrooms, broccoli, and pepper. Stir-fry until vegetables begin to soften, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir hoisin mixture and add. Stir constantly, until vegetables begin to soften, 2-3 minutes.
