Ingredients
- 2 med onions, chopped
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 10 slices bacon, fried and cut into thirds
- 4 (1 lb cans) baked beans, undrained
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 Tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 cup catsup
- 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese
Preparation
Step 1
Fry bacon until almost crisp. Remove bacon and drain all drippings except 2 Tbsp. Saute onion and garlic until golden, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in beans, molasses, and catsup and bacon. In a small bowl, toss together cheese, crumbs and butter. Spoon over beans.
Bake 30 minutes at 350 deg or until top is brown and bubbly.
