BUTTER CREAM ICING FOR CAKE DECORATING

  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 4 c powdered sugar
  • 2-4 T milk

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and shortening with mixer. Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one c at a time, beating well. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl. When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry. add milk and beat at med speed til light and fluffy. Keep icing covered with a damp cloth til ready to use.
