Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups dark corn syrup
- 3 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 pound butter
- 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
Preparation
Step 1
Butter a 9 x 13 pan or for easier removal line pan with parchment paper.
Place syrup in heavy saucepan and bring to a boil. Add sugar and stir slightly. Add butter when mixture comes to a boil. Bring mixture back to a boil and add milk. Cook over medium heat until mixture registers 245 degrees on a candy thermometer or turns a caramel color, approximately 18 minutes. Pour in prepared pan. Cool and cut into squares. Wrap each piece in wax paper or confectionery paper.
