Banana Caramel Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c all purpose flour
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1 c margarine, cut up
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 extra ripe, medium bananas peeled
  • 1/2 c caramel topping

Preparation

Step 1

Combine flour, sugar and powder in large bowl. Cut in margarine with pastry blender until mixture resembles coursemeal. Slowly stir in egg, mixing with a fork until crumbly. Pat half of mixture into 13 x 9 pan to form crust. For filling mash bananas. Blend bananas with caramel topping. Spread evely over crust. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over filling. Pat gently. Bake in 375* oven 35 min or until golden brown. Cool pan on wire rack. Cut into bars when cooled.
