Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 4 c. powdered sugar
- 2-4 tbsp milk or water
Preparation
Step 1
In large bowl, beat butter and shortening with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla and salt.
On low speed, beat in powdered sugar, 1 c at a time, scraping down sides of bowl occasionally. Add 2 Tbsp milk; beat on high speed until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in just enough remaining milk to make frosting smooth and spreadable, Frosts 24 cupcakes (about 3c).
