Crema De Fruita (Fruit and Cream)

Ingredients

  • 1 large cans (550 g) fruit cocktail, drain and reserve juice
  • 4 packs honey graham crackers/Maui sugar graham crackers, or sponge cake
  • 1 Nestles cream/whipping cream or all purpose cream
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 "alsa gulaman" (clear), or packet unflavored gelatin powder
  • 6 egg yolks
  • Butter
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

Preparation

Step 1

1. To prepare filling: Combine Nestle"s cream (whipping cream, or all purpose cream), evaporated milk, condensed milk, 6 egg yolks and butter in medium saucepan over low heat. Cook and stir until thickened, 10-15 mins. Let cool completely.

2. To prepare topping: Place reserved juice in small saucepan over low heat. Stir in " alsa gulaman", or unflavored gelatin powder, and sugar (optional) until completely dissolved. Set aside.

3. To assemble: In medium/large square container or glass dish/tray, spread a little amount of butter, and arrange graham crackers. Spread filling over graham crackers. Repeat procedure according to layer preferences. Top with remaining layer and remaining filling, arrange fruit cocktail on top (you can add cherries, pineapples, peaches, kiwis, strawberries or any fruits you want), and cover with gelatin mixture.
Chill 4 to 8 hours until set.
