Apple Cobbler

Apple cobbler is a classic all-American dessert, and this recipe is a winner. Tart and firm Granny Smith apples give superior results in baked dishes - like this one!
Ingredients
- 55 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, sliced
- 1/2cup1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1tablespoon1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1tablespoon1 tablespoon nutmeg
- 1stick1 stick butter
- 1cup1 cup flour
- 1/2cup1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1tablespoon1 tablespoon baking powder
- PinchPinch salt
- 1cup1 cup milk
- Cinnamon, to taste
- Ice cream, for serving

Preheat oven to 375°F.
To a large skillet on medium heat, add apples, brown sugar, lemon juice and nutmeg. Heat until warm and blended.
While oven is preheating, add butter to a 9- by 13-inch Pyrex baking dish and place in oven until butter is melted.
In a large bowl, add flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt and milk. Mix well to blend. Pour mixture over melted butter. DO NOT STIR.
Add apple mixture. DO NOT STIR. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake 30 to 45 Minutes, until brown and bubbly. Serve hot with ice cream.
