  • 5 5 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, sliced
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon nutmeg
  • 1 stick 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • Pinch Pinch salt
  • 1 cup 1 cup milk
  • Cinnamon, to taste
  • Ice cream, for serving

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°F.

To a large skillet on medium heat, add apples, brown sugar, lemon juice and nutmeg. Heat until warm and blended.

While oven is preheating, add butter to a 9- by 13-inch Pyrex baking dish and place in oven until butter is melted.

In a large bowl, add flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt and milk. Mix well to blend. Pour mixture over melted butter. DO NOT STIR.

Add apple mixture. DO NOT STIR. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake 30 to 45 Minutes, until brown and bubbly. Serve hot with ice cream.
