Ingredients
- cake:
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 t baking powder
- 1 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 4 eggs room temp
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 T vanilla
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup veg oil
- 1 1/4 cup water, cold
- 3 cup favorite nuts, chopped
- melted butter for cake pan
- icing:
- 6 oz bittersweet dark chocolate
- 1 cup butter room temp
- 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 T milk
- 1 T vanilla extract
- 1 T almond extract

Step 1
cake:
350 degree oven
prepare pan coating it with melted butter
in medium bowl, mix flour, cocoa, both sugars, baking soda, baking powder, salt to remove lumps.
in separate bowl whisk eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract.
in electric mixer beat butter and veg oil till blended. add in water and mix.
combine egg with butter mixture. beat till well mixed. add dry ingredients and mix well. add nuts.
pour into pan. bake 45-50 minutes
icing: melt chocolate and set aside to cool. in electric mixer bowl beat butter till creamy. reduce speed and add sugar, milk and both extracts. beat again till fluffy. then set to medium add in chocolate.
when cake is cooled cut in two layers and put icing between and on top and sides. sprinkle 1/2 cup nuts between the layers and 1/2 cup on top of it.
