Ingredients
- Makes 12 Appetizers
- 6 slices thin white bread, crusts removed, rolled flat
- 2 cups yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons water
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 3 tablespoons snipped chives

Preparation
Step 1
Cut two 3-inch circles from each bread slice; press neatly into a greased mini muffin tin. Bake at 370° for 7 minutes or until lightly brown. Can be made 2 days ahead, covered at room temperature.
In a skillet over medium heat sauté onions in butter and water stirring constantly until caramelized. Remove from heat, add salt, pepper and dried thyme.
In a small bowl mix together sour cream, chives, salt and pepper; spoon into tartlets, top with caramelized onions and serve.
