Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Hershey's Cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) margarine or butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 12 oz package (2 cups) Nestle Toll House Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups Quaker Oats (quick or old-fashioned)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. In small bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda & salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine margarine, brown sugar, granulated sugar & vanilla; beat until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips, oats & nuts. Drop by slightly rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9-11 minutes for chewy cookies, 12-13 minutes for crisp cookies. Let stand 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet; cool completely. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
