Preparation

Step 1

Cut squash in half lengthwise. Scoop out seeds and strings. Place in baking dish, cut-side down. Add a little water and bake on 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until tender. Remove and scoop out flesh. Mash with butter and carmelized onions. Top with pepper and maple syrup.

Microwave Method; Cut in half. Remove seeds. Cover with wax paper and heat on high for 8 minutes. Allow to cool 2 to 3 minutes and then heat for 9 more minutes or until tender,
