Grandmas Waldorf Salad

By

I get my husband to cut and seed the grapes. It's very time consuming.
And somehow when you give a man a knife to play with he's happy.

Preparation time 90mins

Preparation

Step 1

Clean and core apples. DONT PEEL THEM. Cut into bit size pieces. Put the apples and lemon juice in cold water to cover them.

Dice celery

Chop Walnuts

Wash and half grapes removing any small seeds

Put walnuts, celery and grapes in a really large mixing bowl.

Put quart of whipping cream and beat until stiff. add vanilla, sugar and miracle whip. The miracle whip is the secret ingredient. blend everything well.

Drain apples really well in colander. If necessary take paper towel and dry them. You don't want water on them as it will make the whip cream runny.

Chill for at least 4 hours. Is best eaten the same day it is made. but the leftovers are so yummy and will last 5 days in fridge if they aren't eaten first.
