Ingredients
- 2 lb lean ground pork
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 4 eggs (separate 1 egg for the white)
- 6-8 pieces bread soaked in milk
- salt an pepper
- 3 lARGE ONIONS
- BAY LEAF
- BACON
- savory
- thyme
- parsley
Preparation
Step 1
Saute onion in generous amount of butter
Add bread,meat,eggs (which have been well-beaten
salt,pepper and other seasonings
Turn out into a large baking pan and shape the meat mixture into two loaf shapes
Break bay leaf into tiny pieces and sprinkle over meat loaves.
Spread egg white over the loaves to seal them
Place three slices of bacon diagonally across each loaf.
Bake at 350 for 1 1/4-1 1/2 hrs
