Rate this recipe
- 2-16 oz cans peeled whole tomatoes
- 2 T butter
- 5 T sugar
- pinch of nutmeg
- If in season, use 10 ripe tomatoes, peeled and cored
-Combine tomatoes and butter in heavy pot.
-Cook covered over low heat for 1 1/2 hours.
-Mash tomatoes, add sugar, S&P and nutmeg.
-Cook 30 min, stirring often.
