Hush Puppies

Ingredients

• 3 cups Corn Meal - self-rising
• 3 Tbsp. Onions diced fine
• 1/2 tsp. Sugar
• 3 Tbsp. Cooking Oil
• 1 tsp. Baking Powder
• 1/2 tsp. Salt
• 1/2 tsp. Black Pepper
• 2 whole Eggs
• Buttermilk

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all of above in any order using buttermilk as the liquid to get a very heavy batter.

Spoon out of mixing bowl and drop in deep peanut oil at a temperature of approximately 325 degrees. Fry until a golden brown on the outer surface.
