Cheese stuffed bacon burgers

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (preferably chuck)
  • 4 1-ounce cubes American or cheddar cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Red onion, minced
  • 4 buns
  • Crisp bacon
  • Lettuce

Step 1

Season ground beef with salt and pepper, add minced onions and into 4 loose patties.

Press 1 cube cheese into center of each and pinch meat around it; flatten into a patty. Make a shallow indentation in center of each patty with your thumb, taking care not to expose cheese.

Fry bacon until crisp and drain on a plate covered with paper towels.

Heat grill to medium-high. Grill patties over direct heat 10 to 12 minutes, flipping once or place on griddle and fry to desired doneness.

Lightly toast 4 buns. Serve burgers on buns with crisp bacon, lettuce, and red onion.
