Ingredients

  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 1 tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 can (12 ounce) corned beef
  • 1 can (10 ounce) tomato soup
  • 1 can (16 ounce) sauerkraut, drained
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tbsp. sweet pickle relish
  • 5 slices Swiss cheese, cut in half diagonally

Preparation

Step 1

1. Spread rye bread with mustard. Cut bread into cubes and place in bottom of a buttered 9x2 inch baking pan.

2. Crumble corned beef evenly over bread.

3. Stir together sauerkraut, tomato soup, water and relish; spoon on top of corned beef.

4. Bake, uncovered in 375 degree oven for 25 minutes. Arrange half slices of cheese over top, return to oven for 5 minutes more or until cheese melts.

5. Cut into squares to serve.
