Ingredients
- 8 oz Cream cheese - soft
- 16 oz Oreo cookies
- 6 10 oz square white chocolate
- 8 10 oz square semi sweet chocolate
- 1 qt size zip lock bag
Preparation
Step 1
Using a quart-sized Ziploc bag, place 6-8 Oreo cookies in the bag & seal it tightly. Lay the bag on a flat surface and use a rolling pin to flatten the cookies until they become fine little crumbles. Pour the crumbles into a bowl & repeat above steps for the remainder of the package of Oreos.
Use your hands to mix the cookie crumbles and the cream cheese together until it is one big ball.
Pinch off about 1/2 teaspoon of truffle mix and roll it together with your hands into a 1 inch ball is formed. (You may choose to make them bigger or smaller but keep in mind they are rich tasting.)
Melt the chocolate according to the box directions. Melt the chocolate and white chocolate separate so you will have some all chocolate, some white chocolate or you can sprinkle some white chocolate over the all chocolate truffles, or visa versa.
Dip the Oreo balls into the melted chocolate. Make sure you cover the entire ball with the desired amount of chocolate. Place each ball onto a sheet of wax paper.
After all of the truffles have been dipped and decorated, place them uncovered in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Once the truffles have set, place them in an airtight container and keep them refrigerated until serving.
Tips: Once the truffles have been made, decorate a small box or a treat bag. Fill it up with truffles and give them as gifts to family & friends. Make your own Valentine card to go with the homemade truffles and you'll have the perfect little Valentine gift for someone. Also, Oreo also makes a mint chocolate and a winter Oreo with a red filling which can be used to make the truffles.
