Ingredients
- 1 pkg. Boar's Head Sauerkraut
- 2 apples (Granny Smith)
- 1 med. Sweet Onion - sliced
- 1/2 cup White wine (dry) (Chablis)
- 2-3 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
- 1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
- 2-3 Tbsp. Butter
Preparation
Step 1
Peel, core and slice apple. Slice sweet onion.
Melt butter in large frying pan. Add apples & onion and saute until onions are translucent. Do not overcook.
Add sauerkraut. Measure white wine, and add brown sugar to wine to melt the brown sugar. Pour over sauerkraut and heat thoroughly.
Add sausages (chicken & apple sausages are delicious with this dish) and heat thoroughly.
Serve with mashed potatoes.
