CHOCOLATE NUT CLUSTERS ( Justin Sullivan )

Ingredients

  • 1 ) 6 ounces semisweet chocolate
  • 2 ) 2 teaspoons vegetable shortening
  • 3 ) 2 cups unsalted nuts
  • 4 ) 1/4 cup finely chopped crystallized ginger (optional

Preparation

Step 1

Combine chocolate and shortening in medium sized heavy bottomed sauce pan. Heat over low heat until chocolate melts, stirring occasionally, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in nuts and ginger, if desired. Line baking sheet with wax paper. Drop mixture by heaping tablespoons onto paper, allowing "1" between clusters. Chill at least for 1 hour to firm up. Pull from wax paper and serve.
