Rum Cake

Ingredients

  • GLAZE:
  • 1 cup Chopped pecans
  • 1 pkg Yellow cake mix
  • 1 pkg Instant vanilla pudding 3 3/4 oz
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup Dark Rum
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Dark Rum (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

Grease bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts on bottom.

Mix all cake ingredients together. Pour batter over nuts. Bake 1 hour at 325.

Cool and invert on plate. Prick top and pour glaze over til absorbed.

GLAZE:

ADD RUM AFTER GLAZE HAS BOILED FOR BEST FLAVOR

Melt butter in pan. Stir in water and sugar. Bring to boil for 5 minutes. Then add 1/2 (or more if desired) rum. Drizzle over top and sides til glaze is used up.
