Basic White Sauce

  • butter
  • flour
  • milk

Preparation

Step 1

Thin White Sauce:
1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon flour for each cup of milk or cream

Medium White Sauce:
2 tablespoon butter and 2 tablespoons flour for each cup of milk or cream

Thick White Sauce:
3 to 4 tablespoons butter and 3 to 4 tablespoons flour for each cup or milk or cream


Put ingredients in blender. Cover and process at chop until well blended. Pour into saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thick. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Cheese Sauce:
Add 1/2 cup cubed cheddar cheese to ingredients for White Sauce. Cover and process at grind until smooth.
