  • 1 ) 1 pound butter
  • 2 ) 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 3 ) 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 ) 1 (12 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate morsels



Step 1

Note: Do not use plastic cooking utensils as the candy could melt them. Combine butter, sugar, and salt, over medium heat in large skillet to melt butter and mix ingredients. Then reduce heat to medium low. Cook while stirring constantly until temperature reaches 300, or hard crack stage. Candy will become an amber color. Pour onto a large cookie sheet or jelly roll pan and let harden. Melt 1 1/2 cups of chocolate morsels and spread over candy, let cool, then flip over. (Use a large piece of plastic wrap or wax paper to place over the cooled candy. Then flip the whole cookie sheet over to get candy out.) Place the candy back into the cookie sheet, with the plastic under the already frosted side. Then cover other side with chocolate. Once completely cooled, break into irregular shaped pieces and enjoy.
