Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Frosting
- 3 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350*.
In a large bowl, sift the flour, cocoa, and salt. In another bowl, combine sugar, oil, buttermilk and egg and mix well. Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture. Beat well. Add the baking soda and then add the boiling water and vanilla and stir. Pour into a greased and floured 9-13 pan and bake for 40-45 minutes. Let cool before frosting.
