Ingredients
- 2/3 cup water
- 3 cups Bisquick mix
- 20 oz pork sausage (2.5 cups)
- 1 cup diced apples
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1 t cinnamon
- 1/2 t nutmeg
- 14 t salt
- 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella
- Maple syrup if desired
Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Spray large baking sheet with cooking spray. In a large bowl, mix water and Bisquick, knead until dough is smooth. Cover and set aside.
3. In a 10 inch skillet over med-high heat, cook and stir pork until no longer pink - 4 minutes. Add apple and onions and cook for another 1 minute. Drain and return skillet. Stir in cranberries, cinnamon and nutmeg and salt.
4. Place Bisquick dough on flat surface, roll into a rectangle - 10 in by 14 inch. Spoon sausage mixture into center of dough and sprinkle with cheese. Pat mixture to within 1 inch of edges. Brush edges with water. Starting with the long side roll dough over the sausage forming a loaf. Pinch edges to seal.
5. Place loaf on baking sheet. Cut 4 slits in the top. Bake 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool 5 minutes. slice into 8 even slices.
Can serve with syrup if you like.
