Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1/3 cup whipping cream
- 2 cups flour
- sugar
- Creamy butter filling
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- food coloring
Preparation
Step 1
Mix butter, cream and flour thoroughly and chill 1 hour.
Heat oven to 375°. Roll dough 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured board. Cut in 1 1/2 inch rounds. Transfer to waxed paper heavily sprinkled with sugar; turn to coat both sides. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and prick with fork Bake 7-10 minutes or until slightly puffed. Put together two cookies with filling.
For Filling:
Blend butter, powdered sugar, egg yolk and vanilla. Add coloring if desired.
