Ingredients

  • 4 russet potatoes
  • 1 1/2 C cream
  • 2 T butter, Softened
  • 1/2 C milk
  • 2 T flour
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 C shredded cheddar cheese
  • black pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Rub softened butter over the bottom of a baking dish.

Slice and quarter scrubbed potatoes.

Whisk cream, milk, flour, garlic, salt, and black pepper.

Place a 3rd of the potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish and cover with a 3rd of the cream mixture.

Repeat twice ending with the creamed mixture.

Cover and bake for 30 minutes.

Uncover and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until potatoes are golden brown and sauce is bubbling.

Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top and bake an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling.

Allow to stand for 10 minutes before serving.
