  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/2 c. chilled butter
  • 4 to 5 T. ice cold water

Step 1

Cut butter into small cubes. Freeze butter 10 to 20 minutes. In a food processor blend flour and salt. Add butter and pulse until butter is the size of small peas. With food processor running add 1 T. of ice water. Keep adding water until dough forms into a loose ball. Remove from processor. Form into a ball and then flatten into disk. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Makes one 9-inch pie shell.
