Note: Use a teaspoon and allow 2-3 nuts per candy. If using 2 cups pecans expect to have sauce left over so I have increased amount by 1/2 cup.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 cup pecan halves
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 Tbs butter
- 1 tsp baking soda
Preparation
Step 1
1. In a 2 quart glass batter bowl blend buttermilk, sugar, pecans, salt and butter. Microwave High 12-14 mins., stirring every 4 minutes. Add baking soda, stirring to foam. Microwave High 1-2 mins to darken mixture. Whip with a wooden spoon until mixture turns dull. Teaspoon onto waxed paper to harden. Makes 5 dz.
