Ingredients
- 1 ) 4 or 6 eggs, (very well beaten)
- 2 ) 2 cups sugar
- 3 ) dash of salt
- 4 ) 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 5 ) 1 can Eagle Brand milk
- 6 ) 1 can Milnot
- 7 ) 1 gallon milk
- 8 ) 2 cups of ice cream salt (or more)
- 9 ) 1 big bag of ice
Preparation
Step 1
This recipe is for a 6 quart freezer. Mix first 6 ingredients together, eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla, Eagle Brand milk , and Milnot. Mix above ingredients thoroughly and put in ice cream freezer canister. Fill can to 2/3 mark with milk. Run 3-5 minutes to mix. Continue to run freezer and put ice around canister to 1/4 level. Add approximately 1/4 cup of ice cream salt. Add more ice 1/2 way level of canister. Add approximately 1/4 cup of ice cream salt. Add ice to about a 1/2 inch below lid of canister. Add approximately 1/4 cup ice cream salt. Add ice to cover canister. As ice melts and runs out hole in side of bucket, keep adding ice and maybe a little salt. When ice/salt mixture is a little watery, that is when ice cream is freezing good. Some freezers will shut off when ice cream is solid enough, some freezers will have to be shut off when turning becomes extremely labored.
