CORN AND SHRIMP CHOWDER

In a large pot cook 4 slices bacon that have been cut into 1/2 inch pieces. Then when crisp, leave fat in pan and add 1 chopped medium onion, and 6 small chopped red potatoes and 1 c frozen corn niblets and 1/4 tsp thyme. Cook 5-6 minutes until onion is soft. Then beat in 4 c chikcen broth and 1/4 c flour, heat to a boil, reduce to medium and cover and cook about 15 minutes. Then stir in 2 c half and half, 1 (12 oz) pkg froozen (leave frozen) uncooked peeled, deveined and tails removed shrimp, salt and pepper and cook about 5-6 minutes until shrimp are pink and firm. I MADE THIS ON 3/30/11 AND IT WAS VERY GOOD. RYAN LOVED IT. LOTS OF LEFT OVERS THAT WERE VERY GOOD REHEATED.
