Auntie Myra’s NEW Brownies

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks unsalted sweet butter
  • 12 oz. semisweet chocolate
  • 5 medium or large eggs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 T cocoa
  • 1 tsp espresso or instant coffee
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Do not use electric mixers!
Do not preheat the oven!

1. Melt chocolate and butter. Set aside to cool.
2. Beat eggs. Add in salt and sugars.
3. Combine with cooled chocolate mixture.
4. In separate bowl, mix flour with cocoa and coffee. Add to chocolate mixture.
5. Add vanilla.
6. Mix until blended but do not over mix or brownies will be too cakey.
7. Pour into greased 9x13” pan.
8. Put into 325 degree oven. Bake 23-25 minutes. Test with toothpick.
9. Do not cut until cool. Can put in refrigerator before cutting.
