Pork Chops & Wine

Ingredients

  • 6 Pork chops
  • 1 Tbsp. Shortening
  • 3 Tbsp. Minced Onion
  • 1 Tbsp. Prepared Mustard
  • 1/8 tsp. Cornstarch and a little water
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup Beef Bouillon
  • 1/2 cup Dry white wine
  • 1/2 Bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt

Preparation

Step 1

Brown chops in fat. When well browned, add mustard, onion, Worcestershire sauce, boullon, wine, bay leaf, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 1 hour until tender. Discard bay leaf. Remove from pan. Add cornstarch mixed with a little water to the liquid in the pan. Add cornstarch and stir til smooth. Serve gravy over the chops.
