• 1/2 cup milk
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 2 squares chocolate
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1/2 tsp. baking soda
• 2 cups flour
• 1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

1. Cream shortening and sugar. Add melted butter.

2. Beat the egg and add to the milk.

3. Add baking soda to flour. Alternately add the flour mixture and the milk mixture to the creamed shortening and beat the mixture until smooth.

4. Drop by spoonful on greased tins. Bake in 375 degree oven until done.
