Sweet and Sour Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 T. cornstarch
  • 2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 4-5 lbs chicken breasts
  • 4 cups cooked rice

Preparation

Step 1

In a small saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch; blend well. Add vinegar, oil, ketchup, and garlic salt; blend well. Cook over medium heat until mixture thickens and boils, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Cut up and cook chicken breasts in a skillet over medium heat with 1 T. oil. Cook rice according to practice directions. Combine sauce and rice and simmer together for 5-10 minutes and serve.
