TRIPLE SEC GRILLED HAM STEAK

Easy week night meal. Goes well with macaroni and cheese or rosemary potatoes. Also make a batch of biscuits to go with the ham; you can make ham biscuits with any left-overs.

Ingredients

  • 1 Ham Steak, approx 1.5 lbs.
  • 1 large sliced Jalapeno pepper, w/seeds
  • 3 Tbs brown sugar, divided
  • 1/4 cup Triple Sec
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 Tbs ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice

Preparation

Step 1

Whisk together in a medium bowl, 1.5 tbs brown sugar, orange juice, Triple Sec, cumin and allspice; add sliced jalapenos. Place ham steak in large resealable bag and pour mixutre over steak. Seal and place in frig at least 6 hours.
When ready to grill, remove steak from bag and pour marinade in a small sauce pan, reserving 4-5 sliced jalapenos. To marinade, add 1.5 Tbs brown sugar and cook approx 20 minutes on medium heat.
Grill ham steak on direct medium heat w/sliced jalapenos on one side for approx 3 minutes with lid down. Turn and grill an additional 3 minutes and remove to platter. Serve with sauce.
