  • 1 LARGE SWEET ONION
  • 1 LB LEAN GROUND BEEF
  • 1 1/2 TSP GARLIC POWDER
  • 1/2 TSP SLAT
  • 1/4 TSP GROUND BLACK PEPPER
  • 2 TSP OLIVE OIL
  • 4 SLICES HEARTY BREAD OR TEXAS TOAST TOASTED
  • 4 SLICES SWISS CHEESE

Preparation

Step 1

1 PEEL AND CUT ONION INTO THIN SLICES. SHAPE MEAT LOOSELY INTO PATTIES. SPRINKLE WITH GARLIC POWDER, SALT AND PEPPER. PRESS 1 ONION SLICE INTO THE CENTER OF EACH PATTY. SHAPE MEAT AROUND ONION UNTIL TOP OF ONION IS FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE MEAT PATTY.

2 PREHEAT GRILL. REDUCE HEAT TO MEDIUM HEAT. PLACE PATTIES ONION SIDE UP ON GRILL RACK OVER HEAT. COVER AND GRILL 10-13 MINUTES OR UNTIL MEAT IS DONE, CAREFULLY TURNING ONCE HALFWAY THROUGH GRILLING

3 TO SERVE TOP WITH SLICE OF CHEESE, MEAT PATTY ONION SIDE UP ON TOASTED BUN
