Ingredients
- 1 lb green beans, trimmed & halved crosswise
- 4 bacon slices
- 1 (16 oz) bottle cocktail onions, drained
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1 1/2 tbsp cider vinegar
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Cook beans in boiling water 4 minutes or until crisp-tender, rinse w/cold water, drain & pat dry
Cook the bacon in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until crisp, remove bacon from pan, reserve 2 tbsp drippings in a pan, crumble bacon
Add onions to pan, cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, add sugar & thyme, cook 3 minutes or until onions are golden brown. stirring occasionally add beans, cook 2 minutes or until heated through, add vinegar, salt, pepper, toss to coat, stir in crumbled bacon just before serving.
