Ingredients

  • 1 & 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3-4 ripe bananas
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 1 t. baking soda
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 t. salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • Frosting: 1/2 cup butter, 4 cup powdered sugar, 1 & 1/2 t. vanilla, 3 T. milk.

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 375. Grease and flour 15 x 10 jelly roll pan. For bars, mix sugar, sour cream, butter and eggs until creamy. Blend in bananas and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda and salt for one minute. Add nuts. Bake 20-25 minutes.

For Frosting: Heat butter in a sauce pan over medium heat until boiling. Let butter turn a delicate brown; remove from heat. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and milk. Whisk together until smooth. It should be thicker than a glaze but thinner than frosting. Spread over warm bars.
