Ingredients
- 2 cups Flour
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 tsp. Baking Powder
- 3 Tbsp. Shortening
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
Preparation
Step 1
Mix dry ingredients together and work in shortening with a pastry blender or knives. When mealy, add milk until thick dough is formed as for pie crust.
Divide into 2 or 3 parts and foll on floured board to 1/8 thickness. Cut into strips and lay on rapidly boiling stock. As you add more dough, push the other dumplings in pot aside gently til all dough is used.
Cover and steam for several minutes. Do not stir but move gently with spoon til all dumplings are cooked and covered with broth.
