OATMEAL COOKIES ( Dorothy Tite )

Ingredients

• 1 ) 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
• 2 ) 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 3 ) 3/4 cup flour
• 4 ) 1 teaspoon salt
• 5 ) 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 6 ) 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 7 ) 1/2 cup shortening, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Combine oats, sugar, flour, salt and cinnamon. Dissolve soda in 1/4 cup boiling water and add shortening. Mix well. Chill for a while. Roll out to1/4 inch thickness on slightly floured board and cut into circles and place on baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 12 -15 minutes. Makes: 60 cookies
