Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 3/4 cup plus 1/8 cup bread flour
  • 1/4 cup plus 1/8 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast

Instructions

Place all of the ingredients in the order specified according to the directions on your bread machine. Select the Dough cycle.

Remove the dough from pan and place on a lightly floured surface. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

Divide dough into 24 sections. Roll each section into a ball and place on a greased 12″x18″ baking sheet (rows 6 x 4). Cover rolls and let raise until doubled, about 30 minutes.

Bake at 375F for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Tops can be brushed with melted butter. Makes 24 rolls.
