Ingredients
- 3/4 cup coconut milk fat
- 3/4 cup coconut sugar
- 2 Tablespoons honey or coconut nectar
- 1/4 cup vegan shortening
Preparation
Step 1
1 Place coconut milk fat, coconut sugar, and honey in a saucepan
2 Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer
3 Continue simmering for 10 minutes
4 Allow caramel sauce to cool for 5 minutes
5 Stir in shortening until completely dissolved
6 Serve.
Makes about 3/4 cup caramel sauce- store in refrigerator
