Party Angel Food Cupcakes

Ingredients

  • Chocolate Buttercream Frosting:
  • 1 Duncan Hines Angel Food Cake Mix
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 3-4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk or half-and-half
  • Colored Sprinkles, optional

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare the cake mix according to the instructions on the box; adding the vanilla and almond extracts with the water.
2.Spoon the batter into paper muffin liner cups (do use liners, otherwise the batter with stick terribly) and bake for about 15-18 minutes, until golden on top. Cool completely and frost.

Frosting:
1.In a large mixing bowl, beat butter until fluffy. Gradually add the cocoa, 3 cups powdered sugar, vanilla and 1 tablespoon milk.
2.Beat until well combined and fluffy.
3.Adust with more sugar or milk depending on what consistency you prefer. Frost cupcakes and decorate with Sprinkles.
