Ingredients

- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 5 eggs
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 tea. cinnamon
- 2 loaves French bread, crusts removed and bread cut into 1/2" cubes
- 1/2 cups raisins
- JACK DANIELS SAUCE
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 tea. cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 2 Tbsp. Jack Daniels
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 3 qt. glass or ceramic baking dish; set aside.
In a bowl, beat butter and sugar by hand with a spoon. Add eggs, heavy cream, vanilla and cinnamon.
Add half of bread cubers to bowl. Beat at low speed with an electric mixer. As bread begins to break up, add more bread to bowl until mixture becomes like a damp (but not too wet) mush. Add raisins. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish.
Bake, covered, for 30 minute3s. Uncover and bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, approx. 30 minutes.
Serve warm with Jack Daniels sauce.
JACK DANIELS SAUCE: in a saucepan, bring cream, sugar, butter, and cinnamon to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.
In a bowl, dissolve cornstarch in water, stirring to combine. Add cornsta4rch mixture to hot cream mixture, stirring to blend. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Add Jack Daniels.
