Alton Brown's Jerky Marinade

I've found my go-to marinade for making jerky. Tastes amazing on beef and venison. If you like jerky you'll LOVE this marinade recipe!
Ingredients
- 1 pound flank steak or venison
- 2/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Preparation
Step 1
This marinade works for 1 1/2 to 2 pounds of meat.
In a small bowl, combine all ingredients (except meat). Mix well.
Place meat three or four layers deep in a container, spooning beef jerky marinade mixture over each layer. Cover tightly.
Marinate 6 to 12 hours in the refrigerator, stirring occasionally.
Place in a single layer on the dryer trays and dehydrate to the desired texture.
