Crock Pot Apple Butter

I used 8 lbs. apples and it was fine with the same amount of sugar.
I used 3-4 different kinds of apples.
I let the apples cook over night.

Ingredients
- 5 1/2 lbs apples cored, peeled and chopped.
- 4 cups sugar
- 3 tsps. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. salt

Preparation
Step 1
Place apples in a large bowl.
Combine sugar, cinnamon and cloves mixing well.
Pour over apples an mix well.
Place in crock pot, cover and cook on high (200) 1 hr.
Decrease heat to low; cover and cook on low (170) for
9-11 hrs. or until thickened and dark brown.
Stir occasionaly.
Uncover and cook on low for 1 hr. longer.
Using a potato masher, mash any apples that did not get mushy.
Sterilize canning jar, lids and rings in boiling water.
Fill jars leaving a head space.
Cool on a rack until lids seal.
Store in a cool, dry place.
